To ensure that the University complies with the standards and regulations set forth by the IRS, NC Department of Revenue and the US Department of State, we have updated several related documents to standardize our process of reporting federal and state income tax withholding and employment eligibility verification requirements.

As of May 12, you can expect salary and fringe benefit projections to be more accurate in InfoPorte.  The long-awaited changes that will be put in place on Friday complete a series of changes and fixes that have been implemented over the last few weeks.

As a follow-up to the most recent HR Council meeting, effective April 3, SHRA employees will no longer complete paper Federal and State Income Tax withholding forms (W-4 and NC-4 forms) during New Employee Orientation. New employees will be directed to complete their tax forms using the online forms available for viewing and updating on the Self Service menu on the ConnectCarolina home page.

The University has continued to increase options for employees’ convenient online access to their tax forms through ConnectCarolina Self Service. As an extra layer of security, the University implemented 2-Step Verification to further safeguard employees’ personal information.
