SAS Replacement with Tableau

A one-hour web training session via Zoom will be available to describe the new processes in the Carolina Analytics Portal due to Tableau replacing SAS. We are offering two sessions: the first is from 1 – 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27 and the second will be available from 1 – 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3. 

Reminder on Purchasing via Personal Funds

Due to an increase in employee reimbursements and unauthorized purchases, we would like to remind campus to review 1227 – Policy on Unauthorized Purchases and 1251 – Small Order Policy regarding purchases through personal funds.

January 2021 GSHIP Notification

The January 2021 GSHIP premium file has been uploaded into Connect Carolina and departments now have access to the GradStar GSHIP Administrator Premium Maintenance page to update allocations to Research Assistants/Teaching Assistants (RA/TAs).

Airgas and Arc3 Holiday Hours 2020

ARC3 and Airgas will be closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 25, 2020 and Jan. 1, 2021. Extra dry ice should be ordered if needed.

Airgas and ARC3 Thanksgiving Hours 2020

Please note that Airgas and ARC3 Gases will both be closed on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27. Airgas will only be delivering dry ice on Monday, November 23 the week of Thanksgiving. They will return to their regular schedules the following week.

Pandemic Tracking Update – Addition

As a follow up to campus feedback to the October 16 memo (included below) please note that departments may also use Connect Carolina Cost Code 3 fields for expenditure transactions as well, if your unit is already using CC1 and CC2.  If you have previously used Cost Code 3 before the October 16 memo for pandemic transactions, there is no need to go back and correct entries.

Pandemic Tracking Update

This memo acts as a reminder that all campus units (besides the School of Medicine) should continue to use FAECOVID-19 in one of the Connect Carolina Cost Code 1, 2 fields for all expenditure transactions (AP vouchers and GL journals) to identify COVID-19 related operating expenses, except for COVID Research Projects that are already tracked via Project ID.

Upcoming removal of Flash from TIM

September 30, 2020

Adobe Flash is set to expire at the end of December 2020. TIM will be updated to a version that is Flash-free the weekend of October 17, 2020.  After the update, users will no longer be prompted to run Flash.
