NEW! December Month-End Close: Central offices have officially closed for the month of December. This includes the transmission and reconciliation of all December transactions, and state approval to close the month.
NEW! January Month-End Close Deadline: Validated campus journal entries and data collect batches (journal imports) should be received by Accounting Services by close of business
(5 p.m.) on Tuesday, Jan. 31. Please remember that accounting will not receive the journal entries until the journal has been budget checked valid and has passed through all required approvals (including OSP, if necessary).

NEW! University Business Managers Outlook Group: In December 2022, the University Business Manager’s listserv was closed due to the anticipated closeout of our listserv system and moved to an Outlook Group. Everyone who was a member of the listserv at that time was moved to the new group and should be receiving business manager emails in their inbox. Members should see a new folder under their “Groups” section in Outlook called “Business Managers.” You will receive business manager messages in your inbox as well as filed in this folder.
To find out more about how to adjust your inbox settings, see the Finance and Budget Communications page. To register new staff members to the group, go to the page and click on the green button, “Manage Finance and Budget Email List Subscription” and follow the instructions to enroll in the group. You will need your phone for 2-Step verification.
If you wish to send a message to the group, send an email to email@example.com and approved messages will be distributed to the group, or you can contact Christine Shia firstname.lastname@example.org directly.
NEW! Independent Contractor Amendment Workflow: To streamline the process of amending approved Independent Contractor agreements, we are now utilizing ConnectCarolina instead of emailing documents to accounts payable staff, as was done previously. See the Jan. 13 memo for details.

REMINDER! Excel Classes Scheduled for January – June 2023: The Continuous Improvement, Staff Development and Engagement Team is still continuing to offer the Excel Classes, and registration is open.
For questions and support, users should utilize ServiceNow, the new system campus is using to track support and service requests. This is the fastest way to obtain assistance and allows the project team to be able to track issues to determine the scale of the impact to all users.
