We are pleased to announce that Jessica Maitland has been named the new executive director for Budget, Financial Planning, and Analysis, effective Sept. 18.
Maitland is a seasoned budget and finance professional who comes to Finance and Budget most recently from UNC Student Affairs, where she served as senior finance director. Prior to that, Maitland was director of budget at the UNC System Office. She brings with her over 14 years of experience, working in finance roles at higher education institutions, including UNC Wilmington and the University of Virginia. Maitland earned her Bachelor of Science in business accounting in 2008 and her Master of Professional Accountancy in 2009, both from West Virginia University.
As our new executive director, Maitland will lead the Office of Budget, Planning and Analysis to support campus with informed decision-making through robust planning, analysis and information delivery. She will play a key role in assisting campus leadership to implement budget and planning strategies in support of the University’s strategic initiatives. Maitland will serve as a trusted partner to executive leadership, vice chancellors, deans, department heads and budget and financial managers across the institution.
Most immediately, Maitland will also oversee the University’s comprehensive all-funds budget process and will support the implementation of the new budget tool as we launch into the FY 2024-25 budget cycle.
