This e-mail is specifically for those who are responsible for graduate students enrolled in the Graduate Student Health Insurance Program (GSHIP).
The July 2023 GSHIP premium file has been uploaded into Connect Carolina and departments now have access to the GradStar GSHIP Administrator Premium Maintenance page to update allocations to Research Assistants/Teaching Assistants (RA/TAs). To be eligible for the 2023-24 policy year, the minimum prescribed compensation amount for services that a student must receive is $8,000.00. The premium cost per student for annual coverage provided through Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC is $5,096.04 per year. See the May 23 memo for complete details.
The total cost allocation must equal the monthly premium amount of $424.67.
The last day to make changes in the system will be Wednesday, July 26, 2023.
The last day to submit a retroactive termination for 2023 is Friday, July 28, 2023.
