I am pleased to welcome Scott Greer to the role of Treasury Services Director effective Monday, March 2. Scott will work to evaluate and implement best practices in investment management, cash flow management and modeling, debt management, and risk management, and perform specialized financial analyses to advance the mission of the University. Scott will report directly to me in this role.

Scott served the City of Charlotte in various roles, most recently as City Treasurer from 2008 until joining UNC-Chapel Hill. As City Treasurer, Scott oversaw debt management, investment management, financial analysis and revenue forecasting for the City of Charlotte. He served as a trustee and Treasurer for the Charlotte Firefighter’s Retirement System, as a trustee for the City of Charlotte Employee Health and Life Benefits Trust and as a corporate officer for the New Charlotte Corporation. His experience includes financing capital projects for the City of Charlotte, Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, Charlotte Area Transit System and Charlotte Water.

A native of Boone, North Carolina, Scott holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s in public administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He completed the Municipal Administration certificate program at UNC-Chapel Hill Institute of Government in 2005.
