Please see the message below which will be sent out later today to new and existing TIM Managers. TIM Managers for SHRA exempt personnel who may not have had access to their employees in TIM before will have access effective Friday morning, December 14. Also, once someone has TIM Manager access, they will be able to see all of their employees in TIM. We hope you will find this new access beneficial.

This update does not provide access to TIM Approvers of only EHRA personnel so current processes for those time approvals should remain in place.

This update also does not impact TIM Administrator access.

Please review the attached Quick Reference Card, “TIM Manager Access Enhancement:  What Managers Need to Know.”  It provides detailed information about the enhancement and who is impacted.

TIM Managers are designated in the TIM Approver field in ConnectCarolina.  If a change needs to be made to an employee’s TIM Approver, please contact your HR Representative.  Any issues with TIM Manager access or with employees not appearing for Managers in TIM, must be reported to your HR Representative or the ConnectCarolina help desk.  If you have questions about the enhancement, please email timsupport@unc.edu.

We are pleased to announce new and enhanced TIM access. Effective Friday morning, December 14, all TIM Approvers of SHRA employees can view and approve employee timecards in TIM. This is referred to as TIM Manager access. Previously, TIM Approvers of SHRA Exempt employees could not view and approve time in TIM. In addition, once you have TIM Manager access, you will also be able to see all of your employees who are in TIM. Please note, TIM approvers of only EHRA personnel will still not be able to view and approve those employees.

Please review the attached Quick Reference Card, “TIM Manager Access Enhancement:  What Managers Need to Know.”  It provides detailed information about the enhancement and who is impacted.

If after reviewing your list of employees in TIM and the quick reference card, you think a change needs to be made to an employee’s TIM Approver, please contact your HR Representative.  TIM Managers are designated in the TIM Approver field in ConnectCarolina.

TIM Manager training documentation resources are available here. As a new TIM Manager, please review the Managing Timecards (CBT) and refer to the TIM Managers and TIM Administrators Manual.  For instructions on how to approve biweekly (SHRA Non-Exempt and Exempt) timecards, please review the Pay Period Close (CBT).

Also, the way in which you access your timecard as a Manager is different.  You cannot select your name from your list of employees to open your timecard.  Instead, you will need to click on the ‘Workspaces’ tab in the top right of the screen in TIM.  Then, select ‘My Information’.  Your timecard will then appear.

If you have questions after reviewing the TIM training materials, please direct those questions to your TIM Administrator. Please note some of the documentation is being updated to reflect this change.

We hope you will find this new access improves your time keeping approval processes.
