2017 Paper W-2s for ACTIVE employees will be available for pick up by the school/department’s designated staff member on Tuesday, Jan. 30, (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). Please make arrangements to pick up W-2s in Payroll Services, Suite 3600, Administrative Office Building, 104 Airport Drive, and distribute to your active employees.

Also on Tuesday, Jan. 30, Business Managers should note that:

  • All departments reporting to the College of Arts and Sciences should pick up W-2s from the Dean’s Office, Suite 205, South Building on Tuesday, Jan. 30, between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
  • For School of Medicine units, W-2s will be available for pickup on Wednesday, Jan. 31 after 10:00 a.m., in the SOM Human Resources Office.

2017 W-2s for INACTIVE employees will be mailed by Jan. 31 to the last known home address on file in ConnectCarolina.

Access to 2017 W-2s via Self Service with 2-Step Verification (Duo)

Also, please keep in mind that beginning Jan. 12, employees were able to view and print their 2017 W-2 from ConnectCarolina Employee SelfService. 2014-2016 W-2s are already available in Self Service. As a reminder, the University now requires an additional step of authentication when accessing W-2s called 2-Step Verification. More information is available on the Online Employee Tax Forms webpage:

Former employees (i.e., retirees or employees in an inactive status) will be able to view their 2017 W-2 using ConnectCarolina Employee SelfService by creating a Guest ID.  Instructions are linked from the Online Employee Tax Forms webpage. They will also need to register for and use 2-Step Verification to access their online W-2.
