The following is a Formal Notice that will be sent later today to all students. Please review and update all materials published to students that reference our credit card transaction fees. For future reference, please refer students to our Web site (cashier.unc.edu) for this information. Please contact DeAhn Baucom, University Cashier, at email@example.com with any questions.
Effective September 29, 2011, the transaction fee for credit card payment of student accounts will increase to 2.75 percent.
In past years, the University has not been able to fully cover the costs of credit card payment of student accounts. Recently, the North Carolina Office of State Budget and Management approved our request to increase our transaction fee from the current rate of 2 percent to 2.75 percent.
This transaction fee increase will provide the University with the same transaction fee percentage as many other universities in the UNC system and nationwide. We will continue to accept only MasterCard and Diners Club online.
