You may have heard that the new PI Dashboard is projected to rollout in September. Based on feedback from Principal Investigators across campus, the new Dashboard provides a “snapshot” of grant funding and expenses, including salary projections, at both the award level and the project level.

Please remember that next week marks the beginning of a series of key dates for fiscal year end. These deadlines must be met to ensure use of your 2016-2017 budgets rather than your 2017-2018 budgets.
Validated campus journal entries and data collect batches (journal imports) should be received by Accounting Services by close of business on (5 p.m.) Wednesday, May 31, for the month of May.
You can now enter longer and more detailed descriptions in General Ledger journal headers to explain why a journal is needed and to describe each file you attach to the journal.

An important initiative to simplify the part of ConnectCarolina that tracks and controls budgets is happening in time for the new fiscal year. The simplification will improve system performance, reduce complexity, and reduce the amount of data the system needs to manage.
