Internal Controls Director Rod Smith reflects on the importance of personal obligation when it comes to Internal Controls.

As a follow-up to our communication on August 25, the intermittent CastleBranch system outages have been resolved and the system is now fully operational.

The University’s background check vendor, CastleBranch, is currently experiencing intermittent system outages, which may temporarily affect your ability to access the system. If you have any questions, please contact the UNC background check unit at backgroundcheck@unc.edu or (919) 962-5742.

The Fall 2020 deadline to drop classes and reduce tuition charges has been extended from 8/21/2020 to 8/28/2020. In addition, the percentage of tuition and fees refunded when a student withdraws from the University has been increased based on a new timeline. Please see Important Dates for Fall 2020 for details.

Pursuant to U.S. tax laws, the University is required to issue an IRS Form 1099 to U.S. persons who receive $600 or more from the University during a calendar year. This applies to payments in the aggregate. Accounts Payable is the unit on campus that handles this reporting requirement.
