In August 2009, the UNC Board of Governors approved the implementation of a “hard waiver” student health insurance plan on all 16 four-year campuses beginning in fall 2010.

The University continues to apply Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) Statement 51, Accounting and Financial Reporting for Intangible Assets, for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2014. The Statement provides guidance to capitalize certain intangible assets, including website development.
