NEW! August Month-End Close Deadline: Validated campus journal entries and data collect batches (journal imports) should be received by Accounting Services by close of business (5 p.m.) on Friday, August 30. Please remember that accounting will not receive the journal entries until the journal has been budget checked valid and has passed through all required approvals (including OSR, if necessary).

For details on month-end close procedures, see the Accounting Services webpage. Bookmark this page to see the latest info in between updates.

NEW!  July 2019 month is closed: Central offices have officially closed for the month of July.  This includes the transmission and reconciliation of all July transactions, and state approval to close the month.

NEW! Dual Employment Computer Based Training:  Budget, Planning, and Analysis, with assistance from OHR Employment and Staffing and The Service Center of Excellence, has rolled out a learning tool for Dual Employment: the process when a Permanent University Employee is borrowed from another State Agency or when a University Department borrows a Permanent Employee from another State Agency. The CBT highlights the necessary requirements for processing, provides insight to the workflow and direct access to the forms. If you are involved in this process the CBT will be especially helpful to you. Please take some time to review this new tool by following this link, or bookmark this link to gain access to ConnectCarolina CBT trainings.

NEW! 1500 Travel Policies: Information You Need to Know:  In July, Travel Services completed an overhaul of the 1300s Travel Policies section as part of the Provost’s Operational Excellence initiative and these are now listed in the 1500s.  Although these changes will not impact the way travel is currently processed, please update your policy links and form links to reflect the current processes.  See the August 5 memo for details.
