If you submit vouchers, you likely know that the funds are reserved as soon as you budget check the voucher. If a voucher doesn’t get approved, it can take a while for the funds to be released, which ties up your budget.  Maybe you’ve thought it would be better if the funds weren’t reserved until the voucher has received all of its approvals.  If that’s the case, you’ll like the new change that the ConnectCarolina team is making, effective February 1, 2018.

Changes to Budget Check Timing

Effective February 1, 2018, your budget isn’t going to be affected until a voucher or a purchase requisition has been approved completely.  This also means that transactions won’t show up in InfoPorte until after they’ve been approved.  This change only applies to campus vouchers, eProcurement orders (such as Staples or Fisher Scientific), and purchase requisitions.
