Christy BaldridgeWhat is a typical day like in your job?
The routine part of my day consists of reviewing service contracts and related purchase requests. The highlight of my day is meeting with campus customers to understand their purchasing requirements and business problems they are attempting to solve.

How does your job support Carolina’s mission?
My role connects our pre-approved service vendors with departments. Each department has similar but different projects.  It is my role to offer insight to the vendors best suited to assist with services needed.

What do you like most about your work?
Meeting campus colleagues and assisting them with solving business problems. This ranges from connecting colleagues with vendor partners to sharing best practices re: Purchasing or ConnectCarolina.

What do you think is most exciting about (aspect of the job)?
I am so grateful for the leadership team support of community service projects. I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to participate with the AOB community on past Veteran’s Day food drives & the Red Cross Blood Drives. I have had the pleasure of meeting new people and look forward to future projects.

What is something people probably wouldn’t know about you, or another fun item you’d like to share?
I have been fortunate to travel globally.  One memorable destination is Haiti. Through my church, I have participated in mission projects and trips.  The first trip was mission support in Port au Prince visiting hospitals and orphanages.  The second trip was a group of NC doctors providing clinic services in Montrouis. I treasure the friendships and experiences while on mission in Haiti.
