NEW! October Month-End Close Deadline: Validated campus journal entries and data collect batches (journal imports) should be received by Accounting Services by close of business (5 p.m.) on Thursday, October 31. Please remember that accounting will not receive the journal entries until the journal has been budget checked valid and has passed through all required approvals (including OSR, if necessary).

NEW! September is Closed: Central offices have officially closed for the month of September.  This includes the transmission and reconciliation of all September transactions, and state approval to close the month.

NEW! UNC Healthcare to Retire Dual Employment Policy: UNC Healthcare will soon be retiring the UNC Healthcare Dual Employment Policy.  As of October 1, UNC Healthcare will no longer consider any new requests for dual employment.  Effective December 31, the UNC Healthcare Dual Employment policy will be permanently retired.  For more information, see the October 8 memo.

REMINDER! State Auditors Still on Site: Each year a financial audit of the University is conducted by the North Carolina Office of State Auditor. Although their primary work is done in the Controller’s Office, please know that a state auditor staff member may contact you or a member of your campus unit during this review. They are expected to be on campus through the first week of November. For more information, see the August 12 memo.

Users should utilize the Business Systems Help Desk when they are unsure who to contact for issue resolution. This is the fastest way to obtain assistance and allows the project team to be able to track issues to determine the scale of the impact to all users. Users can reach the Business Systems Help Desk at 919-962-HELP or via a ticket submitted online at help.unc.edu (select ConnectCarolina > ConnectCarolina Finance > the appropriate area of concern).
