I would like to announce several organizational changes within Procurement and Materials Management, effective immediately.
Within Accounts Payable and Travel Services, under the leadership of Janet Rupert, we are creating a new department, Travel and Payment Card Services. It will consist of the existing Travel Services operations, Purchasing Card (P-Card) operations, and a new area called Travel Card operations. This additional unit will allow us to lay the foundation for travel spend initiatives coming in the next year, including an upcoming project that will deliver a new corporate card program for the University. We are currently interviewing for the Travel and Payment Card Services Manager position, who will report directly to Janet Rupert. P-Card team members Hua Shen and Beverly Braxton will join this new department.
Additionally, Asset Management will be reunited with Surplus Property under the eProcurement and Materials Management team led by Ammar Yameen. We are interviewing for the Asset Management Program Manager position, which will also include eProcurement/eCommerce reconciliation responsibilities. This role will provide supervision for asset management staff. Al Jeter will continue to lead the Surplus Property unit.
Finally, John Medlin will maintain his current role as Procurement Services Operations Officer, reporting directly to me in support of our upcoming initiatives.
