Pandemic Tracking Update
This memo acts as a reminder that all campus units (besides the School of Medicine) should continue to use FAECOVID-19 in one of the Connect Carolina Cost Code 1, 2 fields for all expenditure transactions (AP vouchers and GL journals) to identify COVID-19 related operating expenses, except for COVID Research Projects that are already tracked via Project ID.

Hiring Graduate Students 2020-2021
Graduate students may be hired for a semester, academic year, calendar year, or other periods as needed. Each school/division may establish varying effective dates to meet their business needs. This year presents a challenge due to the changes in the academic calendar in response to COVID-19.

New employees in TIM

Temporary Exemption from the Daily Deposit Act (N.C.G.S. § 147-77)
On March 30, 2020, the North Carolina Department of State Treasurer approved a temporary exemption to the Daily Deposit Act which requires the University to make daily deposits of all state funds into an approved bank account. Conditions in the exemption are as follows:

Cancellation of Upcoming Travel
As a reminder, the University is continuing to prohibit University-affiliated travel outside the State of North Carolina. Per the University’s coronavirus website, the point in time when the University’s prohibitions and restrictions on travel will end has not yet been determined.
