February 2022 GSHIP Files Uploaded

The February 2021 GSHIP premium file has been uploaded into ConnectCarolina and departments now have access.The total cost allocation must equal the monthly premium amount of $351.92. The last day to make changes in the system will be Monday, February 21, 2021.

State Health Insurance, TSERS and ORP Employee Contribution Changes

The employer retirement contribution rates have been communicated to us by the North Carolina Teachers and State Retirement System (TSERS). Effective Jan. 1, 2022, the TSERS employer contribution rate increased from 21.86% to 24.10% and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) employer disability and retiree health contribution rate decreased from 6.77% to 5.99%.

URGENT: GSHIP Last Day for Student Blue Waiver 1/31/2022

Next Monday, Jan. 31, 2022, is the last day for Research Assistants/Teacher Assistants (RAs/TAs) who have enrolled in the Graduate Student Health Insurance Program (GSHIP) to waive out of the UNC system Student Health Insurance Plan (Student Blue).
