From: Walter Miller, Director of Payroll Services

The following email is being sent later today to EHRA Temporary including Graduate Students, Post Docs, and 9-Month Faculty who have been granted access in TIM to record Administrative Absence Leave hours taken from March 16 until April 30.

ALL employees (faculty, staff, and students) are expected to record this leave if qualified to receive paid Administrative Absence Leave. The University is reporting all Administrative Absence hours taken to the UNC System Office. The amount of leave reported could impact University funding, so it is important that ALL employees report any such leave taken.

Subject: Recording Your Administrative Absence Leave in TIM

You are receiving this notification because you now have access to TIM to record your Administrative Absence Leave hours taken due to the COVID-19 event beginning March 16 through April 30, 2020. From March 16 until April 30, 2020, employees may be granted paid Administrative Absence Leave for qualifying reasons. Please review question one (1) in the updated HR COVID FAQ, https://hr.unc.edu/employees/covid19-faqs/, for detailed information about COVID-19 and the special leave provision. If you do not have Administrative Absence Leave to record, then no action is required.

Employees are expected to record this leave if they qualify to receive paid Administrative Absence Leave. The University is reporting all Administrative Absence hours taken to the UNC System Office. The amount of leave reported could impact University funding, so it is important that you report any such approved leave that you have taken.

Please record and approve Administrative Absence Leave taken for March and April no later than May 10, 2020. Please complete both March and April timecards before you approve them. If you do not have Administrative Absence Leave to record, then no action is required. If Administrative Absence Leave is extended past April 30, then please follow the same procedure to record leave taken in following months. For example, Administrative Absence Leave taken in May should be recorded by June 10.

You can access TIM by logging into ConnectCarolina, navigating to the employee Self Service page, and opening the TIM tile. At this time, TIM still requires Adobe Flash to run, so utilize your most Flash-friendly browser.
