Dear University Employee,
Beginning with the February 16, 2018, biweekly paycheck, all biweekly and monthly paychecks subject to federal tax withholdings will reflect the 2018 federal tax withholding rates issued by the Internal Revenue Service. The federal tax rate changes are a part of the 2018 tax reform passed by Congress in December 2017.
Employees are not required to take any extra steps regarding this change to withholdings taxes but are encouraged to review their new federal tax withholding rates. If a change is deemed necessary, you can view or update your W-4 and NC-4 forms, which determine your tax withholdings, via the ConnectCarolina SelfService menu. If you have problems accessing the ConnectCarolina SelfService items, please contact the Help Desk at 962-HELP. Contact Payroll Services at payroll@unc.edu if you are unable to update your W-4 or NC-4 after working with the Help Desk.
