I’m happy to announce that Paige Burton will become our new Executive Director for Budget, Financial Planning and Analysis, effective Oct. 19.
Paige brings more than 20 years of financial planning and analysis experience to the University. In her two most recent roles at Citigroup she served as Director of OneMain Financial Treasury and Director of CitiFinancial North America Financial Planning and Analysis. Paige has a depth of knowledge in strategic budget planning, management reporting, forecasting, financial modeling and performance analysis. She earned her MBA at UNC-Charlotte and her Bachelors of Science in Finance and Marketing at the University of Richmond.
In this new leadership position at Carolina, Paige will support the work of the Finance Council in evaluating alternative University budget models under the direction of the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost and the Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration. Under her leadership, the current Budget Office will become the Office of Budget, Planning and Analysis, charged with a larger “all funds” budgeting scope. This office will report directly to me.
Paige describes this transition as an exciting opportunity to join the University of North Carolina and work with its leaders to improve core budgeting operations: “I look forward to partnering with the finance team and campus community to establish budget operations that leverage existing best practices and create robust financial analysis and reporting to support growth and the positive fiscal future of UNC.”
Paige will work closely with executive leadership, vice chancellors, deans, department heads and budget and financial managers across the institution to provide exceptional budget, financial planning and analysis services for the University and create strong partnerships by facilitating a collaborative service-orientated organization.
