I’m pleased to announce that Brian Simet has accepted the permanent position as Director of Payroll Services, effective September 1, 2015.
Brian came to UNC-CH Payroll Services as Assistant Director in March 2014 and served in a strong leadership role before and after ConnectCarolina Finance and HR/Payroll go-live in Oct. 2014. For the past five months, Brian has served as interim Director of Payroll Services, during which he assumed Payroll Services’ new oversight of the critical Commitment Accounting business processes.
This appointment is Brian’s third tenure as Payroll Director at a major public university, first serving in this role at University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, and more recently at North Carolina State University. His commitment to customer service here and his past experiences leading HR information systems and payroll divisions will continue to be critical assets to our organization.
I want to thank the search committee, which included Finance and Accounting Budget Office Director McGregor Bell, Office of Human Resources Senior Director of ConnectCarolina Vicki Bradley, Kenan-Flagler Business School Asst.
