The Graduate Student Health Insurance Program (GSHIP) has been updated and is scheduled to open Aug. 4 for 2014-15 enrollments.  Effective Aug. 4, GSHIP Enrollment can be accessed via ConnectCarolina and is now located in the GradStar GSHIP menu within ConnectCarolina Student Administration (formerly Campus Solutions).  GSHIP will no longer be accessed via FRS.

Due to this change, some additional steps need to be taken for this initial enrollment period:

  1. Access to GSHIP does not transfer to ConnectCarolina. Users are required to complete the necessary training prior to being granted security access to ConnectCarolinaThe Working with GSHIP CBT explains how to access GSHIP via GradStar and can be reached from a “Click here to login to Computer-Based Training” link near the top of the ConnectCarolina Training page: https://ccinfo.unc.edu/training/.  Users will then sign in to the ConnectCarolina CBT Login page using their Onyen and password.
  2. Once training is completed, users should email Deon Hallback at dhallbac@email.unc.edu with their Onyen and PID with the subject line GSHIP Access in order to request access as users of the system.
  3. ConnectCarolina GSHIP access will be confirmed by email notification to the user.  A more seamless process for requesting access to applications will be in place after ConnectCarolina Finance and HR/Payroll go-live in October.

As always, please refer to the GSHIP policy (Policy 1112) and related procedures located in the Finance Division Policies and Procedures Manual, as well as the July 23, 2014, memo located at this link.

If you have any questions, please contact Deon Hallback at 919-962-7793, dhallbac@email.unc.edu or me at 919-962-1601 or emily_coble@unc.edu .
