UNC-Chapel Hill has engaged CampusGuard as a Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) to perform a gap analysis of the University’s merchants and the credit card environment to assist the University in improving its compliance with PCIDSS 2.0 (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). The gap analysis will serve as a baseline that outlines which areas need to be prioritized in achieving PCIDSS 2.0 compliance as well as assess the resources that UNC-Chapel Hill will need in the process.

CampusGuard will be visiting Chapel Hill to perform this analysis during the week of July 9. As part of the analysis, CampusGuard will be conducting two mandatorytrainings on Monday, July 9. *(NOTE: This training is not related to P-card use.)*

a. The morning training is for staff involved in credit card processing. It is mandatory for all campus merchants to send at least one representative. Ideally, all staff with significant job duties related to credit card processing should attend. The training will be located at 211 Chapman Hall. To register, please go to our UNC-CH Event Registration site, and click on Merchant PCIDSS 2.0 Training. Your registration will be confirmed by e-mail.

b. The afternoon training is for IT personnel involved in securing internet-connected devices involved in credit card processing. Every merchant that also has dedicated IT staff must send at least one representative. If in doubt regarding your dedicated IT support, an Information Security Liaison for your business unit may attend the training. The training will be located at the Pleasant Room, Wilson Library. To register, please go to our UNC-CH Event Registration site, and click on IT Support PCIDSS 2.0 Training. Your registration will be confirmed by e-mail.

If you have any questions, please email certifi@unc.edu.

We understand that there are time constraints due to the scheduling of the trainings and assessment. However, we appreciate your cooperation due to the importance of this matter. Thank you for your participation.
