The Finance Division is pleased to announce that account requests for Subsidiary Ledger (SL) only can be submitted using the online Account Request System effective August 18, 2008.
The module will benefit business offices managing professorships, internal grant awards from University funds, and auxiliary services. A subsidiary ledger account only can be requested for existing GL account types listed below:

Expendable Gifts, Devises and Bequests, Allocations or Grants from Foundations, and Residual Funds;
Expendable Gifts
Fund Allocations
Residual Funds -
University Endowments;
Income Allocation
Principal and Income -
Contracts & Grants (excluding Sponsored Research);
Non-Federal contracts and grants (excluding state) -
Sales of Goods & Services;
Athletics (Athletic Business Office)
Dental Faculty Practice Plan
Physicians & Associates (P&A Administration only)
University Recharge Centers
Other Auxiliary (Student Housing and Campus Health Services administrative offices only) - Foundation Expendables (currently available for UNC-CH Foundation only)
The Account Request System is accessed through Finance Central. A link to Finance Central is found on the Finance Division Training web page. There is an interactive online manual located on the same web page under the Training tab. We encourage all users to review the manual prior to submitting an account request.
