The Combined Purchasing Initiative (CPI) was created by UNC General Administration to respond to Senate Bill 202.6.11, which says in part that General Administration “…shall consolidate information technology infrastructure purchasing…by ensuring access to a bulk and shared pricing process that will realize savings through efficiencies.” By complying with this bill, the aggregate purchasing power of the UNC System can be leveraged to obtain the best possible prices for information technology infrastructure purchases and to provide the same reduced prices for all UNC System institutions.

Benefits

  • Flexibility for UNC’s diverse institutions
  • All UNC institutions receive the same bulk purchasing advantages
