Our Goals

• Produce the University's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) with the objective of obtaining a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting awarded by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
• Successfully complete accurate, timely financial statements that are in compliance with the Office of the State Controller requirements.
• Obtain an unqualified audit opinion of the financial statements from the Office of the State Auditor.
• Complete foundation and investment fund audit responsibilities for the external auditors.
• Meet the continuing disclosure requirements for bonds.
• File timely the Federal 990-T Exempt Organization Business Income Tax and State CD-405 Corporation Tax Return for unrelated business income.
• Successfully implement new Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) statements.
