Airgas National Welders Supply Company

Airgas National Welders Supply Company and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill entered a Prime Vendor Agreement for the purchase of Liquid Nitrogen, Dry Ice, and Cylinder Gases. Once you are a registered customer, you will receive training by a representative of Airgas National Welders and receive special low pricing on your purchases which are delivered straight from Airgas National Welders. Refer to the below delivery schedule to estimate delivery times. When ordering please keep in mind that Holidays and certain weather conditions may delay your delivery, so please place orders accordingly.

Note: Departments should aim to return empty gas cylinders to the vendor as promptly as possible to reduce demurrage (container rental fee) charges.

Campus user’s are able to purchase routine catalogue items through Fisher Scientific and look to see if Fisher Scientific carries desired items before checking with other vendors. Overall, Fisher Scientific remains to be the lowest cost provider for scientific supplies and equipment offering UNC Chapel Hill the ability to reduce total acquisition cost for scientific supplies.

Upon registration, University departments are able to take advantage of discounts and reduced administrative burdens. All items are ordered through Fisher Scientific’s E-Commerce website. Site of distribution will vary by item with some orders being filled by the local campus storeroom and others being shipped directly from Fisher Scientific’s regional distribution center.  In stock items that are sourced from the local storeroom will be delivered by UNC-CH central receiving the following business day. For orders being shipped from Fisher Scientific’s regional distribution centers you will need to call your Fisher Scientific Storeroom representative (see numbers above) for delivery information.
