As communicated in April, Dennis Press retired as University Controller effective July 1. We thank him again for the 39-plus years of State service – and almost 22 years in the position of University Controller at UNC-CH.
While we oversee the search process for a permanent replacement, the direct reporting units – Accounting Services, Budget Office, Financial Reporting and Management Services, and Payroll Services – will report directly to me. We plan to post the Controller position as soon as possible.
During this transition period, Frank Kinney from Huron Consulting Group who has been working on the Finance and Accounting Division organizational review, will work as a Special Assistant in order to provide additional support for me related to year-end activities, business process reviews, special projects, and the ongoing Finance and Accounting organizational review.
Frank is a Director with Huron Consulting Group, and prior to his work in consulting, he reported to the CFO for the University of Chicago; was the Executive Vice President for the Appraisal Institute in Chicago; and he was a Partner with KPMG.
