![]() Administrative Office Building, 104 Airport Drive The Finance Division supports the instruction, research, and public service missions of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill by providing fiscal leadership, safeguarding University financial assets, ensuring regulatory compliance and providing timely delivery of services to internal and external customers. This mission is carried out through Finance's vision of providing students, faculty and staff with an efficient and effective financial environment in which to carry out their daily tasks through teamwork, diversity, innovation, honesty and concern for customers. The mission and vision are carried out by five service areas reporting to the Office of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Finance:
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as is the case with most universities, initiates and processes financial transactions in a decentralized operating environment. Hundreds of departments across the campus are responsible for their budgets and the initiation, approval and integrity of the related financial transactions processed against those budgets. The Finance Division provides central oversight, review, training, guidance and ancillary services to assist departments in carrying out the decentralized financial responsibilities. |
