Finance Training We offer training for all major University financial systems using a variety of training methods including computer-based training (CBT), web-based modules, and classroom training. CBT and web based trainings are short instructional videos which the user can access any time, from any computer. Classroom training is offered for systems which require interaction or additional resources. These trainings are held through out the year at various locations on campus. We work closely with campus users to update and develop training programs as needed. Financial Systems Support We assist campus users with questions regarding access to systems, workflow solutions and general setup. We work closely and on a continual basis with campus Information Technology Services (ITS) to troubleshoot and address emerging issues. Finance Division Workshops These workshops are designed to provide campus with updates of the Finance Division's activities, as well as to inform of any new changes associated with financial systems, policies and procedures, higher education issues, and other finance related topics. Workshops are held throughout the year with presentations being given by the various departments in the Finance Division. Continuing Professional Education The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill – Finance Division is registered with the North Carolina State Board of CPA Examiners as a sponsor of continuing professional education. Continuing Professional Education (CPE) classes provide faculty and staff who hold a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license the opportunity to earn CPE credits in topics related to advanced level University financial management. Classes are held throughout the year and, as space allows, are also open to CPAs from the surrounding community and other universities. Online Manuals and References Online manuals and reference materials for University financial systems, policies, and procedures are available for download or printing. These documents offer additional support and guidance for campus users. "How-To" Brochures The Material and Disbursement Services Department offers “How To” brochures covering topics related to procurement, working with contractors and vendors, surplus property, accounts payable, and Web travel.
