Service contractsContract Services assists departments in developing service contracts that allow outside vendors to perform services on campus. Examples are housekeeping/janitorial, pressure washing, environmental, waste removal, search firms, consulting, and catering. Alternatively, these contracts might be established for services performed at the vendor's location. Examples are hotel/motel, catering, laboratory services, and training. These services require a signed agreement to ensure that all parties understand the nature and scope of services required. Equipment maintenance contractsContract Services assists departments in reviewing and establishing maintenance contracts allowing outside vendors to perform maintenance/repair work on University-owned equipment. Examples of the type of equipment subject to maintenance agreements are fax machines, copiers, and scientific equipment. Maintenance contracts are normally for the duration of one year unless the vendor offers a quality discount for a longer period of time and the department intends to keep the equipment at least that long. Bulk paper purchasesMaterials Management and Distribution offers departments a mechanism of ordering bond/copier paper for campus use at bulk discount prices. Central receivingMaterials Management and Distribution provides a central loading dock with receiving and delivery service for products ordered through e-Commerce and for larger items unsuitable for direct campus delivery. Toner cartridge recyclingMaterials Management and Distribution will pick up and recycle used toner cartridges for departments. To request this service please complete the Toner Recycle Form (PDF) and fax to 962-0589. Scientific storeroomThe Scientific Storeroom is a vendor-managed storeroom operated and managed by Contract Services and Stores through a contractual agreement with Fisher Scientific. The storeroom's main objective is to provide the foremost in scientific supplies and services to the campus community. The on-site campus location reduces the cost and delivery time of supplies and services required for research, labs and educational purposes. |
