Cash Management provides cash management services for the campus community. These services include monitoring cash receipt and disbursement processes for adherence to cash control standards, administering imprest bank accounts and cash funds, stop payment orders and reissues for university checks, escheats of outstanding checks, processing and recording wire transfers of funds for receipts and disbursements, and managing the University money market system for short-term investments in the Temporary Pool and the State Treasurer Short Term Investment Fund (STIF). The unit works with the State Controller’s Cash Management Manual, interacting with banking industry representatives, working with the NC Department of State Treasurer and the NC Office of the State Controller (OSC) on banking and other cash managements issues.

Credit Card Merchant Services provides day to day operational support to departments on campus with active merchant card accounts (MasterCard, Visa and American Express). Other services provided include coordinating with the OSC as necessary to establish new merchant accounts and ensure all merchant accounts are in good standing and in compliance with applicable policies, procedures and standards as required by the University, OSC and the Payment Card Industry (PCI).
